During my trip, I went to three soup curry restaurants in Sapporo, and Tiger Curry was the best among them, even better than the other two famous restaurants near Sapporo Station.

I should take pictures next time. Was first introduced to Tiger Curry about 6 years ago. It is the most unique soup curry spot in Sapporo. The Gyu suji stamina soup ... Is the best I have ever tasted. I've been trying for years to figure out how they make it so that I could bring it to New York

Excellent example of Japanese style curry and soup curry. You can "build your own curry". In step 1 you choose your meat/vegetable combo - vegetarian and non-pork options available. Then choose the style of curry sauce (we had the healthy tiger one - it was good!). Select spice level - we chose 2.5 which was "average" - could've gone hotter but were happy with our choice. Choose your rice size (regular is quite big I think) and then select any extras you might want to add. My husband had beef shin - it was nice but both of us felt the chicken was better. There is a great range of different vegetables included as standard so it was good to try some more unusual ones. It was great value - for a beef shin and vegetable curry (with added mushroom), chicken and vegetable curry, 2 x regular rice, a craft cola (recommended) and a Tiger Beer, it was 5200 yen (just over £25). We went quite late on a Monday night so it was quiet but not empty so it was difficult to get a feel of the atmosphere. Staff were friendly and English menus were available (though you actually get more detail by using then Google Translate photo function on the Japanese menu!) We would return again if we had longer in Sapporo or return to Sapporo in the future. I imagine it would be a very warming thing to have in the winter.

Although it's my first soup curry I've tried in Sapporo, I'm sure the bar was set super high because I thought it was amazing

Soup Curry might have been my favorite dish in Japan! I got mine max spicy and the peppers added a delicious flavor to my curry soup. I would definitely come back next time I'm in Japan
